Asheville Departure Memphis Belle
(Limited Edition)
COL Robert Morgan countersigned this lithograph depicting the Memphis Belle’s infamous Asheville take-off on August 14, 1943. The Memphis Belle was in the United States on a War Bond tour after completing twenty-five combat missions over Europe. This particular day, the pilot decided to bank the Memphis Belle’s left wing 60 degrees to fit the B-17’s 103-foot wing span between the Asheville court House and City Hall—a span of only 75 feet!
The lithograph was designed to commemorate COL Morgan’s 80th birthday, using a scene and layout specifically requested by the pilot himself.

They’ve All Returned: Bassingborn 1944 (Limited Edition)
On March 28, 1944, after delivering over 400 tons of bombs on enemy soil, all of the B-17s from the 91st Bomb Group stationed at Bassingborn Airfield, England, returned safely from their mission. “Hoosier Hot Shot” (tail number 42-38006) and “Bunky” (tail number 42-31542), which began service on January 8, 1944 and March 12, 1944, respectively, were two of the aircrafts assigned to Bassingborn Airfield. Later, both aircraft were lost to the war. “Hoosier” was lost over Kassel, Germany on April 19, 1944 and “Bunky” over South-West Germany on July 19, 1944. An odd coincidence that both airplanes that had once returned together were later lost on the 19th of the month…
